The Walmart Beauty Box is a great way to discover new “drugstore” products! You get a good selection in each box. I feel like each time, I get a bit more than the last. The testers come in different sizes, from foil packets up to some full-size products! This box comes seasonally (4X a year). They advertise it as being free, but you have to pay shipping, which is only $5. I think that is a pretty great deal!
NIVEA Extended Moisture Body Lotion: I received a Nivea lotion similar to this one in the last box and I liked it. It was a little perfumy, but it hydrated pretty well. I have similar expectations for this sample.
Bioré Self Heating One Minute Mask: I have used a sample of this before and I liked it. I love charcoal masks, so I am really excited to try this again! I remember the “self-heating” part was surprisingly hot and kind of tingly.
Crest 3D White Brilliance Daily Cleansing Toothpaste and Whitening Gel System: This is intriguing! This might actually work if you are really diligent about it. I personally didn’t care for the taste or texture of either paste and I think it is a really tedious process, but it might work for some people.
Jargons Wet Skin Moisturizer: I wasn’t overly impressed by this. To start, I needed to use both samples to cover my entire body. My bottom half smelled like summery shampoo and my top half smelled like tropical laundry detergent. The scents were a little too sicky sweet and chemically for me. It was okay at moisturizing my skin. Not great, just okay. However, it did not leave a sticky feeling afterward like the Nivea one that I received a box or two ago.
Schick Hydro Silk Disposables Razor: I enjoyed trying out this razor. I really like the shape of the handle. It fits nicely into your hand. I am not yet sure if the blade is any better than the Venus ones I have been using for years, but I certainly don’t think it is any worse.
L’oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion, Medium Natural Tan: I don’t really use self-tanners very often. This time of year I don’t really see the point. I live in upstate New York and it’s starting to get pretty chilly, so I won’t be showing off a whole lot of pale skin. I have no desire what so ever to repurchase this self-tanner ever! It smells terrible… like cheap, rancid and extra powerful men’s cologne. It has chunky glitter pieces in it that I think are just unnecessary.
Dove Advanced Care Beauty Finish Anti-Perspirant Deodorant: Dove is a good brand. I like them! But I don’t use this kind of deodorant anymore. I have switched over to a natural kind that does not have all the chemicals or metals in it. This does smell nice, though… kind of like sweet shampoo. I think I will be passing this along to someone who can get good use out of it.
Aussie Mega Flexible Hold Hair Spray: I don’t use styling products in my hair very often. I don’t think I would ever use this one, though. The smell really bothers me. It is like old, sour candy and baby powder, and it is really potent.
ACT Advanced Care Plaque Guard Clean Mint Antigingivitis/Antiplaque Mouthwash: This has a gentle minty flavor. I like that a lot more than the stronger ones that can make your eyes water! This is also supposed to be alcohol-free. I think that removes some of the burn. Generally, I am pretty careful about my toothpaste’s and mouthwash’s ingredients. I stay away from all kinds of sugars and these type of things have all kinds of ingredients that are derived from sugar. This one has a couple different kinds of sugar in there, but not as much as I have seen in others.
Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick: I received this exact same lipstick in my last Walmart Beauty Box. I wish they had some kind of customization system, similar to what Ipsy does. This is a very pretty, bright red lipstick. It is very creamy and moisturizing, and it smells fruity.
All in all, I am not overly impressed with the contents of this box. I am however impressed with a number of products!
What did you get in your box this time around? Tell me in the comments!
