Eyeshadow is a beautiful addition to any makeup look whether you go for neutral shades or bright colors. Or maybe you prefer cream shadows over powder. For many of us, no matter the amount of effort we put into blending our beautiful pigments, it always creases. Every time we close our eyes, there is a nice thick band of clumpy eyeshadow in the crease of our eyelids. Yum. My current go-to product, to avoid that clumpy issue, is Tarte’s Colored Clay CC Eye Primer Stick.

I really like Tarte because they are a trendy brand, keeping up with all of the social media hype and demands, as well as making a strong effort to create wonderful products without all the nasty gunk. They never use parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate, or gluten. Not to mention, they are also certified cruelty-free, and vegan-friendly.

The Clay CC Eye Primer lives up to all the hype that surrounds Tarte. It keeps shadow in place very well. It also offers an even-toned base and can conceal any concerns of veiny-ness or other discoloration on the lids, and even under the eyes.

The only complaint I have about this product is the cap is really snug. It takes a good amount of effort to get it off, and to snap it back on again.

All in all, this is a good ‘on. For an added bonus I often see it in a lot of Tarte’s sales.

What are some things you do to get the most out of your eyeshadows? Let me know in the comments.
