Young Living Essential Rewards – May 2019

Young Living Essential Rewards – May 2019

Young Living has been one of my go-to essential oil brands for a number of years. Each month I get a box of products at a wholesale price that I have hand-picked for myself. I also earn points on what I buy and can pick out free gifts. This months order was a nice mixture of both purchased and gifted.

Essential Oils:

Grapefruit – This is for my mom. She loves Grapefruit EO as a perfume! Young Living’s meets her specific tastes.

DiGize – I always have this oil on hand! It soothes any tummy upset.

Thieves Roll-On – I decided to give this a go. We have gone through many bottles of Thieves EO so I thought it would be great to have a pre-diluted option on hand. I plan to use it on my neck at any sign of a sore throat or sniffles.

Deep Relief – Muscle rubs are a staple. This one smells sweet and soothing. It is pre-diluted, so it won’t be so irritating on your skin.

Personal Care:

Acne Treatment – This stuff seems to be helping! It reduces redness and inflammation overnight and I don’t wake up with any weird discoloration or flakiness from the cream.

Thieves AromaBright Toothpaste – This is a great, clean toothpaste!

Thieves Mouthwash – I’ve been using this mouthwash for quite a while. I love the ingredients and it leaves my mouth feeling fresh and clean.

Home Ware:

Thieves Dish Soap – This was $12 and it does not suds up very well…enough said.

Blender Bottel – I lost the little spring blender thing for my old one so I decided to grab this one for $6.

Other than the dish soap, this order has been a hit! Everything is getting used, and being loved.

What are your Young living staples? Tell me about your favorites in the comments!

Young Living Essential Rewards, January ’18 | Unboxing

Young Living Essential Rewards, January ’18 | Unboxing

You’ve probably seen Young Living promoted by a few of your Facebook friends. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the brand, Young Living is a very successful essential oil company whose products are made from organic plants and processed on high-quality machines in the safest ways possible to maximize each bottle’s medicinal value. (You can learn more about their manufacturing process here.)
Each month I receive an Essential Rewards box of products that I have personally selected. I also earn points from each month’s order that allows me to get free products in the future.
This month I ordered Di-Gize and Peace & Calming II.
Di-Gize is my savior. I don’t know how I’d manage without it. I haven’t been without a bottle since I discovered it about 4 years ago. It’s the best tummy soother ever. (You can read my full review of it here.)

Di-Gize Ingredients

“Artemisia dracunculus† (Tarragon) oil, Zingiber officinale† (Ginger) root oil, Mentha piperita† (Peppermint) oil, Juniperus osteosperma† (Juniper) oil, Foeniculum vulgare† (Fennel) oil, Cymbopogon flexuosus† (Lemongrass) oil, Pimpinella anisum† (Anise) seed oil, Pogostemon cablin† (Patchouli) oil” – YL’s Website

Peace and calming II is a beautiful, unique relaxing blend. It’s great to diffuse or apply topically to calm your senses.

Peace & Calming II Ingredients

“Citrus reticulata† (Tangerine) peel oil, Citrus aurantium dulcis† (Orange) peel oil, Cananga odorata† (Ylang ylang) flower oil, Pogostemon cablin† (Patchouli) oil, Picea mariana† (Northern Lights black spruce) leaf oil, Chamomilla recutita† (Matricaria) flower oil, Vetiveria zizanoides† (Vetiver) root oil, Cistus ladaniferus† (Cistus) oil, Citrus aurantium bergamia† (Bergamot) peel oil, Cinnamomum cassia† (Cassia) leaf oil, Artemisia pallens† (Davana) flower oil” – YL’s Website

This month’s order was small and just reached the minimum spending requirement, but both products have been used many times since receiving.
What did you order in your Essential Rewards box this month?

The Honest Co. Essentials Bundle Review

The Honest Co. Essentials Bundle Review

I really enjoy Honest Co. product. They have amazing, simple, harmless ingredients. The ingredients that they use are safe for both the planet and its people.

Honest Co. provides several different variations of auto ship subscriptions. This box is the sample version of one. You can order this trial for just the cost of shipping. You are then placed on an auto-ship subscription. Each auto shipment can be changed and edited based on what you need and when.
The Honest Company

In this free sample box, you receive Honest Face + Body Lotion, Honest Hand SoapHonest Shampoo + Body WashHonest Multi-Surface Cleaner, and Honest Healing Balm, all in travel size bottles.

The Honest Face + Body Lotion is incredibly hydrating without being heavy. It works well as both a hand lotion and a facial moisturizer. There are four scents available: apricot kiss, dreamy lavender, fragrance-free, and sweet orange vanilla. Fragrance-free was the scent that was included in this sample bundle.

Honest Hand Soap comes in mandarin, lavender, and lemongrass. Lavender is the scent that was included in this sample pack. It’s not my favorite lavender scent, but it still smells pretty nice. The bubbles that are created are silky and foamy, and my hands weren’t left feeling dried out.

The Shampoo + Body Wash that came in this box was sweet orange vanilla scented. It smells so good! Exactly how it sounds. The shampoo and body wash also comes in apricot kiss and dreamy lavender. This has a similar texture to the hand soap. Light and fluffy, clean but not dehydrated.

The Multi-Surface Cleaner works quite well on many surfaces (surprise surprise!) but I found that it left behind a sudsy, streaky film on mirrors. I’m not a fan of the scent. It has a hint of something like ammonia. I think I will stick with my favorite, Young Living’s Thieves Household Cleaner.

The organic healing balm can be a bit difficult to work with. In warmer weather, it can become a bit runny. The regular consistency is kind of similar to vaseline. It has a pretty nondescript scent, but that makes sense due to what it’s made of. All of the ingredients are organic oils like sunflower, olive, and coconut oils. Once it’s been worked into the skin, it is incredibly hydrating. Having a bottle on hand sounds like a good idea to me! Especially with the cold winter months that are sneaking up on us.

The Honest Company did a great job putting together this little trial package! All of the products are great and I would recommend and repurchase any of them.

What are your favorite Honest Co. products? Continue the conversation in the comments!

BeautyCon Bff Box Winter 2015-16

BeautyCon Bff Box Winter 2015-16

The Beauty Con BFF Box is a $30 quarterly subscription service. You receive between 10 and 15 girly products like makeup and cute accessories once a season.

This winter box was created by the lovely Bethany Mota! She is a Beauty/Fashion/DIY guru on YouTube.

Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama in Blackest Black. I was a little bit let down when I tried this. It did not make my lashes as huge as it did for Gigi Hadid’s in the commercial. This mascara is okay, but it is not my favorite.

Soap and Glory Hand Food Mini This hand cream moisturizes pretty well without feeling heavy or sticky, but I do not like the smell. I know a lot of people like the classic Soap and Glory scent but I just can’t get on board with it. This smells really similar to a cheap perfume I kept in my school bag in high school. I used that perfume under my nose to mask the smell when we dissected pigs in Biology class. So this scent and anything like it makes me a bit queasy.

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Flirtation. I Like the matte lip trend but it can be a bit uncomfortable. These are creamy feeling but matte. As the lipstick wears off you are left with a beautiful stain. I really like how comfortable these are and the effect they give! I can’t wait to try more colors!

ColourPop Highlighter in Stole the Show. I love all of ColourPop’s products and this is another good one! This is a pretty champagne color with flecks of pink, gold and silver.

Garnier Full & Plush Root Amp Root Lifting Spray Mousse. I don’t really use styling products that often but I am intrigued by the idea of this.

Murad Hydrating Toner. I really like the idea of this: Hydrating and in a spray bottle. I have not seen where it has made a difference with my skin, though.

Essie Nail Polish in Marshmallow. I am not a fan. I like the look of the polish in the bottle but when you try to apply it, it comes out so streaky.

They were nice enough to include two gift cards. One for Nike and one for Aeropostale. Bethany has a range of clothing at Aero!

Bethany also loves Disney so she included Disney theme flash tattoos and Minnie Mouse ears headband. I’m not really sure when the mouse ears will come in handy but the flash tattoos will be fun to save for the summer.

She has also mentioned her love for notebooks. She is always making note of any possible video or project ideas in notebooks.

What was your favorite item out of this winter’s box? Mine was the liquid lipstick!

❤️ Liz

Walmart Beauty Box Winter 2015

Walmart Beauty Box Winter 2015

The Walmart Beauty Box is a great way to sample drugstore products for only $5 once a season (4 times a year). In each box, you get a good number of deluxe sample products and a good number of foil sample products along with several coupons.

Dial 7 Day Moisturizing Lotion. (I could not find this on Walmart’s website.) This isn’t a bad lotion. It moisturizes pretty well and smells nice; peachy, floral and summery.

Pure Silk Moisturizing Shave Cream For Women Raspberry Mist. I’m personally not a fan of shaving creams. I prefer oils. But this stuff is alright. It smells really nice!

NSPA Exotically Creamy Coconut Rich Body Butter. This smells exactly like coconut. It is really thick. I prefer this for my feet. I used it on my legs and it left a sticky, waxy feeling.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Boosters Facial Cleanser. I received this in a previous Walmart box and wasn’t blown away by it. It’s far too chemically smelling to be “healthy” in my opinion.

Goody SlideProof Hair Ties. These work really well at staying in place!

Ken Paves You Are Beautiful Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner. I received these in a previous Walmart box too. As much as I like the idea of these with the essential oils, I don’t like the actual products. They smell pretty strange and I don’t care for the way they feel in my hair.

Pantene Pro-V Extra Strong Hold Hair Spray. I don’t use hairspray like this very often so I think I will be passing this along to someone who will get better use out of it.

What did you get in your winter Walmart box? What was your favorite item? I really like the hair ties and the coconut body butter!

Ipsy “All Eyes On You” January 2016 Glam Bag

Ipsy “All Eyes On You” January 2016 Glam Bag

Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service. You receive approximately five products ranging from drugstore to high-end prices in a cute makeup bag for $10 each month.

MARSK Mineral Eyeshadow in You’re Toast is a very pretty neutral bronzy color. It has amazing pigmentation and blends pretty well.

theBalm Cosmetics Mr. Write (Now) Eyeliner in the color Scott B. Bordeaux. This eyeliner has a very creamy formula that would work well to be smudged out. This color is a deep purple with a little bit of a brown tint to it.

Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics Satin Lipstick in Vengeance is very comfortable to wear. It feels hydrating and it also leaves behind a bit of a stain once it wears away. The color is very strange. On me, it looks nothing like it does in the bullet or on the DLS website. It looks like a gentle Barbie pink with a magenta twist.

Lasting Smiles Lip Balm in Peppermint Creme is very comfortable and hydrating, and it smells amazing!

Hey Honey Skincare Open Your Eyes Eye Contour Lifting Fluid is an interesting product. I haven’t tested it out more than once, but when I did, I didn’t notice much of a difference from it. But I am excited to continue playing with it to see how it works. I like the idea of it.

This bag was good. Not my favorite, but still pretty good. I highly recommend trying out Ipsy if you haven’t already! If you do receive it, what was your favorite item out of your bag? I really love the lip balm! Especially this time of year!

Ipsy December 2015 Glam Bag

Ipsy December 2015 Glam Bag

Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service. You get about 5 beauty products in a cute makeup bag each month for only $10. There is a wide range of brands from drugstore price to higher end. I look forward to seeing my glam bag in the mail each month!

Pacifica Power Of Love Natural Lipstick in the shade “Nudie Red”. The color is very pretty; a nude pink-brown. It blends into my lips very well and its semi-matte finish is comfortable to wear. The one thing that puts me off is the smell. It has an aged, chemically scent to it.

BeFine Exfoliating Cleanser (with Brown Sugar) is really nice! The sugar in it is abrasive to start, but quickly dissolves and leaves you with a creamy lather. I really like that the sugar exfoliants do dissolve and that this product is biodegradable! It also smells amazing! Like a really sweet, nutty coffee creamer.

Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eye Shadow Primer. When I first applied this I didn’t think it was anything special. It felt exactly the same as any other eye primer I have used. It didn’t make the shadow color pop much. But at the end of the day when I looked close at my lids, there was hardly one little crease. With other primers or no primer at all, I get a gross line of clumped up eyeshadow in my crease after only a few hours. This primer held my shadow in place all day!

RickyCare by Ricky’s NYC Classic 3D Blender. I love makeup sponges and am always happy to try another! This one did not disappoint! It applies my makeup wonderfully. The sponge its self is so soft! It feels like a squishy ball of velvet.

FORMULA X Nail Polish in Revved Up is the prettiest rose gold color! Formula X has great quality nail polish and amazing colors! This one could have gotten by with just one coat, but as you can see, the second coat made a bit brighter.

I am really happy with the contents of this bag! I am going to enjoy every single one of these items for a long time! My favorite is the nail polish, of course. What was your favorite from your December bag? Please tell me in the comments.

BeautyCon BFF Fall Essentials Box

BeautyCon BFF Fall Essentials Box

This is my first BeautyCon BFF box. I decided to take advantage of their Black Friday deal and got a few dollars off if I try it for a year. So far, I am pretty happy I did!

From what I gather, you get about 15 (give or take) girly items for just under $30 once a season (4 times a year). Each box is supposed to be worth over $100.

I really like the diversity of products in this box like accessories, makeup, and tech things.

BeautyCon Boho Scarf

BeautyCon Mega Statement Necklace

BeautyCon Stacked Ring Set

BeautyCon Glam Groves Headphones

Altoids Peppermint Mints

E.L.F. Small Stipple Brush I have two of  these already and love them! I am so excited to have a third because I use them for everything, all of the time.

ColourPop Lippie Pencil in the color LBB. I love ColourPop and I am so excited to try this beautiful dark berry shade!

I also got the matching Lippie Stix too!

Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Gloss. I received the color “Taupe With Me”. It smells fruity. I love the regular Baby Lips Balms and this feels really similar. It feels moisturizing and glossy and only a little thicker than the original balm version. There are also tons of beautiful colors!

Benefit They’re Real Mascara I really like this! It quickly lengthens my lashes. It doesn’t do a lot for volume but if you are looking for a lot of length, this is a good one!

SkinFix Hand Repair Cream This is thick and hydrating but absorbs quickly.

Real Techniques Fine Liner Brush I love Real Techniques and I already own this one. It never hurts to have a backup!

Pop Beauty Kajal Pen in the color Inky Purple. I’m not much of an eyeliner person but this is very pretty and blends really well.

Conair ColorGripz Mini Brush

BeautyCon Painted Flowers Pouch

Overall this bag is a win! I definitely recommend trying out this subscription.

My favorite things in this box are the E.L.F brush and the ColourPop lippies. What were your favorites?

Ipsy November 2015 “Beauty Blast” | Unboxing/Review

Ipsy November 2015 “Beauty Blast” | Unboxing/Review

Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription service. For $10 a month you receive about 5 full size or deluxe sample size beauty products. Ipsy works with a great variety of brands so you receive products from drugstore companies as well as mid to high-end  companies. I have been subscribed to Ipsy for over a year and a half and I love it! I would recommend it to any beauty lover, beginner or advanced!

Novel Haircare “Brazilian Keratin Deep Conditioning Treatment” is a great 3-minute hair mask! I used it the other day in the shower and my hair felt pretty soft afterward. It smells a lot like a man’s cologne. I am excited to continue to use this! I am always looking for something that will help my hair become more healthy and grow faster.

Smashbox Cosmetics “Full Exposure” Mascara  I’m not blown away by this. It’s a great mascara but $20 for this mascara gives me the same effect a $5 to$10 dollar one does.

Have you had better luck with it?

Jelly Pong Pong “Liquid Gossamer” This is a very pretty liquid highlight. It has a rose gold, bronzy color staring out of the tube. When blended out on my hand it looks like it has chunky glitter in it. But when I put it on my cheek bones it had a subtle and pretty glow to it!

INSPR Beauty Eye Shadow in the shade “Carnival”. I can not find this specific color on the website, but it has a great consistency! It’s buttery, very blendable and has great pigmentation!

tre’StiQue Mini Matte Lip Crayon in the color “Chili Red”. That is the perfect name for it! It’s such a bright, vibrant red. It could easily be worn year round. This lip crayon has an amazing texture! It’s matte, but not in a drying way. It is really comfortable and long-lasting. That swatch in the picture took two or three days to completely come off! ( Yes, I showered each day.)

I really love the bag this month and I am pretty happy with the makeup I got in it too. What did you get this month? What was your favorite product? Please tell me in the comments!

Ipsy “Alter Ego” October 2015 | Unboxing/Review

Ipsy is a monthly subscription service. You receive about five deluxe sample size and/or full-size beauty products to test out, learn about and play with. It is a great way to discover new brands and types of products. I look forward to receiving my glam bag every month!

Aurora Gel Effect Nail Polish in Inky Dinky: I am really liking this nail polish! “Inky Dinky” is a gorgeous fall color… a dark navy blue. It is a quick drying polish and applies smoothly. It did need two coats to be fully opaque. So far it has not been doing too bad of a job resisting chips. I have been only wearing it for a day and I don’t have any base or top coat on with it.

theBalm Meet Matte Hughes Lip Color, Committed: This is a very pretty, neutral, red, brown shade. When I swatched it, it took a lot of scrubbing to get the lipstick off of my hand! It smells very nice… like mint and vanilla! It took a long time for it to fully dry. When it was partly dry, it felt a little sticky, but it’s not overly uncomfortable.

Coastal Scents Xpress Line Cosmetic Pencil In Black: This pencil has great pigmentation, it doesn’t smudge much and sets quickly. Once it sets it is pretty difficult to remove. I had to rub a lot to get this swatch off.

Ayres Ipsy exclusive Pampas Sunrise Hand Cream: This is a great moisturizer. It is silky and gets the job done. I’m not in love with the scent but I can live with it. I did find that the scent has a pretty strong taste. I rubbed in the little dollop you see in the photo, a few hours later ate some grapes and could taste the lotion that transferred from my fingers to the grape more than I could taste the actual grape. Yuck!

Peter Lamas Naturals Exfoliating Pumpkin Facial Scrub: How appropriate is this scrub for this time of year?! It smells amazing… like pumpkin, cinnamon, and vanilla! It exfoliates really well without over drying or irritating my skin. So far I really like it!

I am really happy with this months bag! The stuff is great and the makeup bag is really cute. It is gold on one side and shiny black on the other. My favorite product in this month’s bag is the nail polish. What did you get this month? What was your favorite item? Please tell me in the comments!

Walmart Beauty Box Fall 2015 |Unboxing/Review

Walmart Beauty Box Fall 2015 |Unboxing/Review

The Walmart Beauty Box is a great way to discover new “drugstore” products! You get a good selection in each box. I feel like each time, I get a bit more than the last. The testers come in different sizes, from foil packets up to some full-size products! This box comes seasonally (4X a year). They advertise it as being free, but you have to pay shipping, which is only $5. I think that is a pretty great deal!

NIVEA Extended Moisture Body Lotion: I received a Nivea lotion similar to this one in the last box and I liked it. It was a little perfumy, but it hydrated pretty well. I have similar expectations for this sample.

Bioré Self Heating One Minute Mask: I have used a sample of this before and I liked it. I love charcoal masks, so I am really excited to try this again! I remember the “self-heating” part was surprisingly hot and kind of tingly.

Crest 3D White Brilliance Daily Cleansing Toothpaste and Whitening Gel System: This is intriguing! This might actually work if you are really diligent about it. I personally didn’t care for the taste or texture of either paste and I think it is a really tedious process, but it might work for some people.

Jargons Wet Skin Moisturizer: I wasn’t overly impressed by this. To start, I needed to use both samples to cover my entire body. My bottom half smelled like summery shampoo and my top half smelled like tropical laundry detergent. The scents were a little too sicky sweet and chemically for me. It was okay  at moisturizing my skin. Not great, just okay. However, it did not leave a sticky feeling afterward like the Nivea one that I received a box or two ago.

Schick Hydro Silk Disposables Razor: I enjoyed trying out this razor. I really like the shape of the handle. It fits nicely into your hand. I am not yet sure if the blade is any better than the Venus ones I have been using for years, but I certainly don’t think it is any worse.

L’oreal Paris Sublime Bronze Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion, Medium Natural Tan: I don’t really use self-tanners very often. This time of year I don’t really see the point. I live in upstate New York and it’s starting to get pretty chilly, so I won’t be showing off a whole lot of pale skin. I have no desire what so ever to repurchase this self-tanner ever! It smells terrible… like cheap, rancid and extra powerful men’s cologne. It has chunky glitter pieces in it that I think are just unnecessary.

Dove Advanced Care Beauty Finish Anti-Perspirant Deodorant: Dove is a good brand. I like them! But I don’t use this kind of deodorant anymore. I have switched over to a natural kind that does not have all the chemicals or metals in it. This does smell nice, though… kind of like sweet shampoo. I think I will be passing this along to someone who can get good use out of it.

Aussie Mega Flexible Hold Hair Spray: I don’t use styling products in my hair very often.  I don’t think I would ever use this one, though. The smell really bothers me. It is like old, sour candy and baby powder, and it is really potent.

ACT Advanced Care Plaque Guard Clean Mint Antigingivitis/Antiplaque Mouthwash: This has a gentle minty flavor. I like that a lot more than the stronger ones that can make your eyes water! This is also supposed to be alcohol-free. I think that removes some of the burn. Generally, I am pretty careful about my toothpaste’s and mouthwash’s ingredients. I stay away from all kinds of sugars and these type of things have all kinds of ingredients that are derived from sugar. This one has a couple different kinds of sugar in there, but not as much as I have seen in others.

Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick: I received this exact same lipstick in my last Walmart Beauty Box. I wish they had some kind of customization system, similar to what Ipsy does. This is a very pretty, bright red lipstick. It is very creamy and moisturizing, and it smells fruity.

All in all, I am not overly impressed with the contents of this box. I am however impressed with a number of products!

What did you get in your box this time around? Tell me in the comments!

❤️ Liz

Ipsy “Face Fashion” September 2015 | Review

Ipsy “Face Fashion” September 2015 | Review

Ipsy is a monthly, beauty, subscription service. You get about 5 deluxe sample or full-size products to try out. It is a great way to learn about and experiment with different brands and types of products for only $10 a month!

“Argan Oil Cleansing Towelettes” Acure Organics These are alright. I’m not really blown away by them. The wipes are a great size! Huge compared to the Proactive ones I’ve been using for a while! I wouldn’t mind if they were a bit more saturated. The smell is kind of strange. It’s one of those “unscented” dusty kind of smells. They didn’t do a great job at taking off eye makeup. They also burned my eyes and the eye area.

Evelyn Iona Cosmetics “Cream Blush” in Ash This is a very pretty color: a pinky peach, and it has a pretty decent formula. The sample sized pot is pretty small. I had a tough time fitting my E.L.F Small Stippling Brush in it. But other than that I like it!

Crown Brush “Oval Concealer Brush” I’m not a fan of using brushes for my face makeup. I prefer sponges. I did give this one a go. It was okay. It took a long time to blend the outer edges of concealer because it is so small. I will probably just use it as an eyeshadow brush from now on. When I first used it, the brush had a LOT of bristles fall out! I was pretty shocked. I gave it a good wash and pulled out a lot more. Finally, it stopped shedding and I was able to let it dry. I haven’t had any more fall out yet.

J. Cat Beauty “#MOTD Waterproof Slide on Pencil for Eyes” in Bronze, I am really mixed about this pencil. The packaging makes you think that it is going to be a pretty, shimmery, copper/ bronze color. It’s more or of a regular brown with a slight hint of shimmer to it. It is creamy and blendable. It does not stick to my waterline, but it works fine on my lash line.

NYX Cosmetics “Ipsy Eye Shadow Trio” This is a very pretty looking, basic palette created just for Ipsy. This would be great to create a light, smoky eye look. The shadows are not as pigmented as they look. The black came out gray and the two shimmer colors hardly show up at all. On the website, they say you can use the shadows wet or dry. I wet the lightest shade to make the shimmer more intense. It hardly made a difference.

Overall I am not very impressed with this month’s bag. Normally I really like what I get, but his time was a miss. Better luck next month I hope!

What did you get this month? How did you like your samples? Tell me in the comments!
