Andalou Naturals “Apricot Probiotic Cleansing Milk” | Review

Andalou Naturals “Apricot Probiotic Cleansing Milk” | Review

Gentle cleansers such as milk and oils are all the rage right now. They remove makeup with ease, your skin is left very soft and hydrated, and it can help balance out overly oily and acne prone skin, as well as moisten dry skin. Andalou Naturals Apricot Probiotic Cleansing Milk ticks off all of those points.

First off, it smells great. You can smell the apricot as well as hints of the other fruity ingredients.

The texture is really nice. It feels gentle and nourishing, but not oily. The makeup removal component is pretty good, however, removing water resistant/proof mascara takes a bit more effort than it would with an oil.

Andalou’s Cleansing Milk is made without GMO’s, gluten, or synthetic chemicals. Resveratrol, CoQ10, and their “PhytoCellTec” are used to keep skin hydrated, youthful, and healthy.

I was really keen on this because of the probiotics. I hoped it might help a bit with my acne. I’m not really sure if it made much of a difference there because I have so much internal healing to do before my acne clears up. I also have a bad habit of picking at my acne, which causes it to spread and get worse. It wasn’t designed for acne prone skin so I won’t hold it accountable.Other than that I’m really happy with this cleanser and would recommend it and purchase it again.

Other than that, I’m really happy with this cleanser and would recommend it and purchase it again.

Bottega Organica Skin Care | Review

Bottega Organica Skin Care | Review

Bottega Organica is a natural, chemical free skin care brand. The ingredients go straight from their farms in Italy and Upstate New York into the bottle. They offer this wonderful little sample pack for just the cost of shipping. Included in it are an eye serum, cleansing oil, facial oil, facial moisturizer, and a hand cream.

Eye Contour Serum

The texture of this serum is very interesting as far as eye products go. It is very liquidy. I would describe it as watery rather than oily. It has a bit of a learning curve if you are used to creams. It has a faint honey-like scent and is a light brown color.

Cleansing Face Oil

This reminds me a lot of Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques Acne Cleansing Oil. It has the same lemon-thyme scent and moisturizing texture. It feels and smells wonderful on my face!

Morning Face Oil

Just a couple of drops of this ginger-scented oil goes a long way. It is incredibly moisturizing and smells wonderful. I wouldn’t, however, use it under makeup. It’s a very oily oil. I enjoy using it on relaxing, no-makeup days.

Extra-Nourishing Face Formula

This oil based face cream is incredibly hydrating. It’s not something I would use under makeup. But applying this in combination with the Morning Face Oil smells wonderful. The ginger and vanilla scents go together very well!

Comfort Hand Balm

During the dry, colder months powerful hand moisturizers are always great to have on hand (ha). This hand balm is just that. It’s oil based but absorbs into the skin quickly and effectively. According to Bottega Organica’s website, this balm is supposed to be orange scented. To me, it only has a gentle olive oil scent, but it doesn’t linger.

All of these products are a liquidy formula. The eye serum is a watery consistency and the rest are oil based. I wouldn’t use any of these under makeup. For someone with oily skin, I think these will work but I’d be careful with the amount I apply. For dry skin, these oils will be loved by your skin! I have combination skin and my dry, flaky patches drink the oils right up.

Have you tried any products from Bottega Organica? What are your favorites?

Living Libations Blemish Bundle Review

Living Libations Blemish Bundle Review

I first discovered Living Libations in a YouTube video about oil cleansing (Watch it! It’s really good!). As Sarah explained how this cleanser had helped heal her acne I knew I had to give it a try! Browsing Living Libations’ website, reading a few of their articles, I could tell this was a perfect place for me to be shopping. Their philosophies and values for personal care, both for the inside and the outside of our bodies matches up perfectly with mine and I will be very happy to continue being one of their customers.

This skin care bundle contains an oil cleanser, spot treatment, and a washcloth. All of these items are made out of organic products. And that makes me very happy!

The “Seabuckthorn Best Skin Ever” oil cleanser has a very silky, hydrating texture and smells incredible. Grapefruit and lavender essential oils give it an amazingly sweet, citrusy scent while the other oils, like vetiver, give a herbally twist to the scent. The “Best Skin Ever” oil cleanser is my favorite of the trio.

Zippity Dew Dab” is a spot treatment. It’s a blend of some really potent essential oils like carrot seed, blue tansy, and niaouli. Sometimes I’d add one drop to my moisturizer and even in that dilution the smell made my eyes water. Because it smells so strong I don’t use it very often, but when I do, I notice my skin heals a bit quicker.

I really like the “Organic Hemp Cloth“. It’s really gentle and soft, yet exfoliating at the same time. I love the fact that it is an organic fabric! Fancy!

After using this set, my acne hasn’t totally cleared up, but there is a good reason for that. I am dealing with a toxic, leaky gut and for my body, acne is a big side effect of that. I did, however, notice that using these three products encouraged my skin to heal quicker.

In total, I thoroughly enjoyed the Blemish Bundle and would highly recommend it!

Note: Living Libations sent this to me for review. That has had no effect on opinion or review, and I plan to be a continued customer of Living Libations. Thank you so much, Charlotte, for your kindness and generosity!

Lauren Brooke Two Step Cleansing System – Acne-Prone/Oily Skin | Review

Lauren Brooke Two Step Cleansing System – Acne-Prone/Oily Skin | Review

Recently I have been struggling with acne. At 20 years old, this is the worst my acne has ever been. There are several possible contributing factors. I was using a lot of harsh, chemically products for a long time. I have recently made the switch to natural products. My gut is also in really poor condition. A very common symptom of digestive disorders is skin conditions, like acne.

This two-step cleansing system from Lauren Brooke Cosmetiques is the first completely natural facial cleanser I have tried. While is hasn’t cured me of acne, it has helped my skin heal quite a bit faster from each zit that I get.

For me, there are too many parts to the system to use in the shower, so I only use it when getting ready for bed. I only need two or three pumps of the oil cleanser, and when I wear makeup I add a couple of extra pumps to melt any tough to remove eye makeup, like mascara. The biodegradable towelettes wipe away the oil and makeup really well.

One problem: I have gone through all of the wipes, but I still have half the bottle of cleanser left. However, the wipes are really big. I think if I were to use these again I would cut each wipe in half and only use only one half at a time. I could not find any information on how many wipes came in the packet.

The packet was packaged in a cute little box. I found that I had to be really careful opening and closing it. The box easily came undone and was a bit annoying to have to put back together to close properly.

I love the smell of both the cleanser and the wipes. It’s very lemony and herby and yummy smelling!

I love the ingredients! Both products are vegan. All of the ingredients are plant based. Almost all of them are organic. The few that are not certified organic are Non-GMO. This system is about as natural and non-toxic as you can get!

Overall I really enjoyed this cleansing duo. I would purchase it again! And I highly recommend it!

Have you tried any products from Lauren Brooke?

What is your favorite nontoxic skin care product?

I would love to hear what you have to say in the comments below!
