Young Living Essential Rewards – May 2019

Young Living Essential Rewards – May 2019

Young Living has been one of my go-to essential oil brands for a number of years. Each month I get a box of products at a wholesale price that I have hand-picked for myself. I also earn points on what I buy and can pick out free gifts. This months order was a nice mixture of both purchased and gifted.

Essential Oils:

Grapefruit – This is for my mom. She loves Grapefruit EO as a perfume! Young Living’s meets her specific tastes.

DiGize – I always have this oil on hand! It soothes any tummy upset.

Thieves Roll-On – I decided to give this a go. We have gone through many bottles of Thieves EO so I thought it would be great to have a pre-diluted option on hand. I plan to use it on my neck at any sign of a sore throat or sniffles.

Deep Relief – Muscle rubs are a staple. This one smells sweet and soothing. It is pre-diluted, so it won’t be so irritating on your skin.

Personal Care:

Acne Treatment – This stuff seems to be helping! It reduces redness and inflammation overnight and I don’t wake up with any weird discoloration or flakiness from the cream.

Thieves AromaBright Toothpaste – This is a great, clean toothpaste!

Thieves Mouthwash – I’ve been using this mouthwash for quite a while. I love the ingredients and it leaves my mouth feeling fresh and clean.

Home Ware:

Thieves Dish Soap – This was $12 and it does not suds up very well…enough said.

Blender Bottel – I lost the little spring blender thing for my old one so I decided to grab this one for $6.

Other than the dish soap, this order has been a hit! Everything is getting used, and being loved.

What are your Young living staples? Tell me about your favorites in the comments!

YL Essential Rewards Unboxing | April 2018

YL Essential Rewards Unboxing | April 2018

Essential oils are used in my home nearly every day in one fashion or another. We use them in our skincare routines, treating unhappy tummies or aching muscles, making the air smell lovely, and even when cleaning.

I’m back today with a little unboxing of my monthly Young Living Essential Rewards Box. The Essential Rewards Box is something that I am able to personalize to my own needs each month. Ordering YL oils this way allows me to receive a decent discount on Young Living’s retail prices and also receive points to turn in for even more discounts in the future.

Three of these oils are very well used and loved here in the Fox home, but one is a new addition to try out.

Orange

This is amazing added to a diffuser. It makes the area smell so bright and fresh. I also sometimes enjoy a drop of orange EO in a glass of water. On Pinterest, there are many pins suggesting to use orange oil for teeth whitening. I’ve added a drop to my toothbrush here and there, but have not done it consistently enough to notice a difference. It does taste nice though.

Spearmint

This is another great one to diffuse. It actually pairs really well with orange in the diffuser. Once in a while, if I’m out of peppermint or DiGize I will use this to soothe a funny feeling stomach.

Lavender

I love lavender! It’s great to diffuse to add a bit of calm to a room. I use it on acne and mix it into face masks. When feeling stressed or anxious lavender is great to rub on my chest and wrists or to put on diffuser jewelry. Basically, I’m never without lavender or something that has lavender in it.

Gentle Baby

This is the new addition to my collection. I am on the hunt for a Young Living dupe for Plant Therapy’s Relax. This is my first test. No luck yet. Gentle Baby is really strong in ylang-ylang and geranium… stronger than I prefer.

I’d love for you to share in the comments what you picked out for your box this month. What are your top favorite oils? What are some interesting oils that I should try?

Thanks for stopping by!

Young Living Essential Rewards, January ’18 | Unboxing

You’ve probably seen Young Living promoted by a few of your Facebook friends. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the brand, Young Living is a very successful essential oil company whose products are made from organic plants and processed on high-quality machines in the safest ways possible to maximize each bottle’s medicinal value. (You can learn more about their manufacturing process here.)
Each month I receive an Essential Rewards box of products that I have personally selected. I also earn points from each month’s order that allows me to get free products in the future.
This month I ordered Di-Gize and Peace & Calming II.
Di-Gize is my savior. I don’t know how I’d manage without it. I haven’t been without a bottle since I discovered it about 4 years ago. It’s the best tummy soother ever. (You can read my full review of it here.)

Di-Gize Ingredients

“Artemisia dracunculus† (Tarragon) oil, Zingiber officinale† (Ginger) root oil, Mentha piperita† (Peppermint) oil, Juniperus osteosperma† (Juniper) oil, Foeniculum vulgare† (Fennel) oil, Cymbopogon flexuosus† (Lemongrass) oil, Pimpinella anisum† (Anise) seed oil, Pogostemon cablin† (Patchouli) oil” – YL’s Website

Peace and calming II is a beautiful, unique relaxing blend. It’s great to diffuse or apply topically to calm your senses.

Peace & Calming II Ingredients

“Citrus reticulata† (Tangerine) peel oil, Citrus aurantium dulcis† (Orange) peel oil, Cananga odorata† (Ylang ylang) flower oil, Pogostemon cablin† (Patchouli) oil, Picea mariana† (Northern Lights black spruce) leaf oil, Chamomilla recutita† (Matricaria) flower oil, Vetiveria zizanoides† (Vetiver) root oil, Cistus ladaniferus† (Cistus) oil, Citrus aurantium bergamia† (Bergamot) peel oil, Cinnamomum cassia† (Cassia) leaf oil, Artemisia pallens† (Davana) flower oil” – YL’s Website

This month’s order was small and just reached the minimum spending requirement, but both products have been used many times since receiving.
What did you order in your Essential Rewards box this month?

Vapour “Mesmerize Eye Color” | Review

Vapour “Mesmerize Eye Color” | Review

You can never go wrong with the high quality, luxe products from Vapour. The Mesmerize Eye Color does not fall short. Just like the rest of the brand’s products, these creamy eyeshadow sticks are made from natural, organic, and mineral ingredients and are beautiful to use as well as to have on display.

Vapour sells their shadows in two different ranges… Classic and Radiant. The Classic colors are matte, while the Radiant shadows are shimmery. For my first try of these shadows, I decided to go for the most basic color they offer, though there are many beautiful colors available. I selected the matte shade Flash. On Vapour’s website, Flash is accurately described as a mushroom taupe color.

This is a really attractive and comfortable eyeshadow and I’d love to try it in other colors. Have you tried any? Which ones are your favorite? Share in the comments.

Lemongrass Spa’s “Pomegranate Body Polish” | Review

Lemongrass Spa’s “Pomegranate Body Polish” | Review

Winter is upon us. Often along with the beautiful, snowy scenes, and cozy clothes, we get dry skin. Exfoliating and moisturizing are two things that I forget to do very easily. But thank goodness there are products out there that can do both at the same time. I’ve just tried Lemongrass Spa’s Pomegranate Body Polish and was blown away by how well it can multi-task.

For starters, it smells incredible. It’s very fruity and can bring a bit of the tropics to your shower routine on a brisk day. Many sugar and salt scrubs are quite harsh and too abrasive for my skin and I can find them to be kind of painful. That is not the case with this polish. It scrubs and exfoliates with just the right coarseness. I think one reason why its so comfortable to use is because it is packed with so many nourishing oils like Sweet Almond Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, and Coconut oil. It is able to moisturize at the same time that the sugar crystals are exfoliating. I used this first thing in the shower and a good amount of the oils stayed on me for the duration of my shower. When I was out our the shower and dried off, I could have easily gotten by without putting on my moisturizer. I could still smell the pomegranate for a long time on my skin over my Dragon Time moisturizer from Young Living.

This is a scrub I would purchase again and try in all the different scents they have available. In the comments below tell me what your favorite Lemongrass Spa products are. What do I need to try next?

Lemongrass Spas “Sheer Mineral Foundation” | Review

Lemongrass Spas “Sheer Mineral Foundation” | Review

Organic makeup can be hard to find at an affordable price. Luckily, Lemongrass Spa is here to cover both of those bases.

Their Sheer Minerals Powder Foundation comes in many great shades, offering medium, yet buildable coverage without any harmful, or unnecessary ingredients.

I have a hard time finding a powder foundation that doesn’t look cakey. Generally, I look for something that can mattify any shiny areas without clinging to dry patches. This foundation ticks both of those boxes while also diffusing acne marks and uneven skin tones, and still looking natural.

My first peek at Lemongrass Spa’s makeup line has gone well and I look forward to trying more products. Do you recommend any? Tell me about your favorite Lemongrass Spa products in the comments below.

Moom “Organic Hair Removal Kit With Cucumber For Bikini And Brazilian” | Review

Moom “Organic Hair Removal Kit With Cucumber For Bikini And Brazilian” | Review

Waxing is a great way to keep your body hair free for a longer period of time than just shaving, but without committing to permanent hair removal. Of course, as many of you know, it’s always wise to choose products that are made without toxic ingredients that could harm us. Moom creates beautiful hair removal products that are made out of only a couple of organic ingredients. A relatively recent addition to their store is this hair removal kit made with cucumber, for the sensitive bikini region.

Because the bikini area is so delicate, the cucumber was added to the formula to calm the skin. Agar-agar, green tea, and lemon juice also offer nourishment to your sensitive skin.

My favorite thing about Moom “waxes” is they are water soluble. If you mess up during application, you can just rinse the goop off and start over.

Included in this kit are reusable organic cotton strips and wooden applicators, and a 3oz pot of hair remover

What is your favorite hair removal method? I’d love for you to share in the comments!

Andalou Naturals “Apricot Probiotic Cleansing Milk” | Review

Andalou Naturals “Apricot Probiotic Cleansing Milk” | Review

Gentle cleansers such as milk and oils are all the rage right now. They remove makeup with ease, your skin is left very soft and hydrated, and it can help balance out overly oily and acne prone skin, as well as moisten dry skin. Andalou Naturals Apricot Probiotic Cleansing Milk ticks off all of those points.

First off, it smells great. You can smell the apricot as well as hints of the other fruity ingredients.

The texture is really nice. It feels gentle and nourishing, but not oily. The makeup removal component is pretty good, however, removing water resistant/proof mascara takes a bit more effort than it would with an oil.

Andalou’s Cleansing Milk is made without GMO’s, gluten, or synthetic chemicals. Resveratrol, CoQ10, and their “PhytoCellTec” are used to keep skin hydrated, youthful, and healthy.

I was really keen on this because of the probiotics. I hoped it might help a bit with my acne. I’m not really sure if it made much of a difference there because I have so much internal healing to do before my acne clears up. I also have a bad habit of picking at my acne, which causes it to spread and get worse. It wasn’t designed for acne prone skin so I won’t hold it accountable.Other than that I’m really happy with this cleanser and would recommend it and purchase it again.

Other than that, I’m really happy with this cleanser and would recommend it and purchase it again.

Smells great ✓

Feels great ✓

Doesn’t dry out the skin ✓

Made with safe, ethical ingredients ✓

And it’s in a purple bottle ✓

A good one all the way around.

In the comments, tell us about your recent favorite cleanser.

Tarte Colored Clay CC Eye Primer | Review

Tarte Colored Clay CC Eye Primer | Review

Eyeshadow is a beautiful addition to any makeup look whether you go for neutral shades or bright colors. Or maybe you prefer cream shadows over powder. For many of us, no matter the amount of effort we put into blending our beautiful pigments, it always creases. Every time we close our eyes, there is a nice thick band of clumpy eyeshadow in the crease of our eyelids. Yum. My current go-to product, to avoid that clumpy issue, is Tarte’s Colored Clay CC Eye Primer Stick.

I really like Tarte because they are a trendy brand, keeping up with all of the social media hype and demands, as well as making a strong effort to create wonderful products without all the nasty gunk. They never use parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate, or gluten. Not to mention, they are also certified cruelty-free, and vegan-friendly.

The Clay CC Eye Primer lives up to all the hype that surrounds Tarte. It keeps shadow in place very well. It also offers an even-toned base and can conceal any concerns of veiny-ness or other discoloration on the lids, and even under the eyes.

The only complaint I have about this product is the cap is really snug. It takes a good amount of effort to get it off, and to snap it back on again.

All in all, this is a good ‘on. For an added bonus I often see it in a lot of Tarte’s sales.

What are some things you do to get the most out of your eyeshadows? Let me know in the comments.

Lemongrass Spa Healing Elements Balm | Review

Lemongrass Spa Healing Elements Balm | Review

My mom and I recently made our first ever order from Lemongrass Spa. They are an affordable organic/natural/non-toxic skin care, hair care, and makeup brand. One thing we had to add to our cart was the Healing Elements Balm. I’ve heard many good things about it both online and from my chiropractor.

It is such a multi purpose product. You can use it anywhere on your body and it improves the health of your skin pretty quickly. With ingredients like coconut oil, apricot oil, jojoba oil, chamomile and lavender essential oils, as well as vanilla for a yummy scent, it’s no wonder that it works so well and is so loved.

Our Success Stories:

A couple of weeks ago I had a pretty deep, raw rug burn on my pinky knuckle. My nerves burned from the tip of my pinky to my elbow. I stupidly tried straight, undiluted lavender oil on my boo-boo. That was too harsh and made the burning worse. I added a touch of The Honest Co. Healing Balm and did not find any relief. Next, I gave Healing Elements a try. I dabbed a tiny scoop (it came with a little spatula for easy, less messy application) on my raw knuckle, topped it off with a band-aid and found instant relief from the pain. I carried on with that combo a couple of times a day for about a week until my knuckle scabbed over.

Mom has been using it as a night time moisturizer and we both agree that her eyes look less puffy and overall, her skin looks smoother. We have been trying to find a Vaseline replacement for her lips. This didn’t quite match up. She said it absorbed too quickly. She likes the barrier that the Vaseline provides. Do you know of any alternatives for her? Let us know in the comments.

We have been loving this and plan to keep our cupboards stocked with it at all times. It’s such a great multi purpose product that everyone should have on hand!

What are your favorites from Lemongrass Spa? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

Vapour Beauty Siren Lipstick | Review

Vapour Beauty Siren Lipstick | Review

Vapour Beauty makes beauty products from non-toxic, natural, organic and mineral ingredients. All of their products are a beautiful quality inside beautiful packaging. On their website, there is a list of dupes where you can find clean replacements for your favorite cult products. Their Lipstick, in the color Purr, is a dupe for Nars’ Lipstick in the color Sex Machine. I’ve had heart eyes for Nars’ Sex Machine for quite a while but did not want the less than desirable ingredients. I’m so glad I found Vapour’s Purr. It’s so beautiful!

The lipstick is a perfect natural pink shade that has great pigmentation. It has a demi-matte/satin finish and is comfortable and hydrating without feeling slippery or oily.

With out a doubt, I would purchase more shades!

What are your favorite Vapour products? Do you know of any must have non-toxic lippies? Let us know in the comments.

Tarte Tartelette Tease Clay Palette | Review

Tarte Tartelette Tease Clay Palette | Review

Tarte is a popular mainstream brand in the makeup addict community. They create beautiful products with natural ingredients. Parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, sodium lauryl sulfate, triclosan, synthetic fragrances, and gluten are never used in any of their products. As an added bonus, Tarte is also a cruelty-free company.

The Tartelette Tease Clay Palette, a sextet of pinky-neutral eyeshadows has the most beautiful formula.  Each shadow is high in pigmentation, very easy to work with and blend, and has a luxe buttery texture.

For me, someone who doesn’t wear a lot of eyeshadow, this is a perfect palette. It gives me a couple of different color combinations to work with. For minimal eye shadow days, I’ll use the lighter shades as an inner corner highlight, or the darker shades as a soft eyeliner. This baby Tartelette Palette is compact, minimal, yet diverse. It’s impossible not to love it.

In the comments, tell me your favorite Tarte products, and tell me about your other favorite non-toxic eyeshadows.
