It is back to school time! (Ugh) I’m no longer in school and those words still make me feel a little sick! When I was in middle and high school I didn’t wear a lot of makeup. That is mostly because I didn’t understand most of it. I was easily overwhelmed by that aisle of my local Wegmans (grocery store), and walking into an Ulta was like trying to read hieroglyphics!

While being sick over the past couple years, I have stumbled across the beauty world via Pinterest and Youtube. I have learned a lot and fallen in love!

I know that some people do like to wear more makeup in school than I did, so I have gathered together a few of my favorite, drugstore priced items to create a quick, easy and natural makeup look for someone who might not have a lot of time to get ready or does not want to look overly done up, but still wants a little something to brighten up their appearance.

Let’s start with concealer. Maybelline New York Fit Me Concealer is great! It has great coverage, is creamy and easy to blend in. Some people say this is a decent dupe for the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer. I find that it is easiest to blend the Maybelline concealer in with my ring fingers. I use it on any darkness under the eye, redness around the nose and acne spots . It covers everything pretty well.

For blush, I really like the  Ulta Mineral Blush. The shade I have here is “Freesia”. I like to apply it with an e.l.f. Studio Blush Brush. It gives a gentle wash of color to the cheeks.

The Colour Pop Highlights are beautiful! They are sort of a creamy/ Play-doughy texture. It can be applied with your fingers or a brush. A small stippling brush would probably be the best. I like to apply this on the tops of my cheek bones and then take my pinky and blend it into the inner corners of my eyes. The shade I have here is Hippo, but there are tons of colors for any skin tone or shade!

Now on to the eyes and lips.

For the brows, Nyx Micro Brow Pencil is great for filling in without making your brows way to bold. It is a harder, thin pencil so it is very easy to lightly feather in “hairs” to create a fuller, natural brow. This is a great dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills ‘Brow Wiz’ Mechanical Brow Pencil.

To make your eyes appear larger and more awake you can add a nude or white eyeliner to your lower waterline. I don’t like how white eyeliner looks on me in that way so I use a nude one. The E.L.F. one I have in the photograph seems to be discontinued, but I am sure it wouldn’t be too hard to find a different one in the drugstore. Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Eyeliner looks really similar!

I have been loving the Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara lately! It makes your lashes long and voluminous, but not clumpy. I prefer waterproof mascara because it gives that extra bit of smudge proof, security.

I really like Maybelline New York Baby Lips Dr. Rescue Medicated Lip Balm. Specifically this shade, “Pink Me Up”. It is a light, girly pink and so pretty! I love the whole Maybelline Baby Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm line. They are all really hydrating, they smell wonderful and come in all sorts of nice colors!
