One of the first changes I made to detoxify my daily routine was to stop using toxic deodorants. For about a year I used Lavanila Healthy Deodorant. It took me a really long time to get used to it. When I first started using the deodorant I didn’t know my pits would need to go through a detox phase. I couldn’t understand what all the hype was about. The deodorant did not work at all… until I finally realized what was happening and gave it some time. After a few weeks, it started to take effect. I have actually gone through a few sticks of that brand.

One thing that has bugged me about the Lavanila deodorant is that there is no mention of whether any of the ingredients are organic. Lavanila has a lot of corn-derived ingredients. When buying corn (and other food) to eat, you always want to buy it organic because of the GMO’s and pesticides. So if I’m not going to eat GMO, nonorganic corn why would I want to put it on my body?

I do not have to worry about that with Primal Pit Paste deodorant! Almost all of their ingredients are organic and/or non-GMO. They also do not include many ingredients (like corn) that can cause a red flag.

The scent that I am using is “Coconut Lime”. It is AMAZING! I could Eat it! It reminds me of a meringue pie. It is also so appropriate for the summer! There are many other amazing scents at Primal Pit Paste, like Vanilla-Lavender, Orange-Creamsicle, and Thyme-Lemongrass, just to name a few. The deodorants come in either a stick form or in a tub. I personally prefer a stick.

I’ve found that natural deodorants work just as well for me as the big name brand Antiperspirants like Dove, Secret, and Degree. But now I’m not putting a whole bunch of harmful chemicals on my body!

To compare this Primal Pit Paste deodorant to the Lavanila deodorant that I was using previously, I like the Pit Paste a bit more. It is slightly more powerful and is longer lasting. Plus I like the ingredients a lot more.

I highly, highly recommend this deodorant! I love it!

Have you tried Primal Pit Paste before? What scent should I try next?

What is your favorite natural, non-toxic deodorant?

Please tell me in the comments!

Note: This was sent to me to review. However, that did not sway my opinion. Everything I have stated above is my 100% honest opinion. Thank you so much to Kim at Primal Pit Paste for your kindness and generosity!

Lemongrass Spa’s “Pomegranate Body Polish” | Review

Winter is upon us. Often along with the beautiful, snowy scenes, and cozy clothes, we get dry skin. Exfoliating and moisturizing are two things that I forget to do very easily. But thank goodness there are products out there that can do both at the same time. I’ve just tried Lemongrass Spa’s Pomegranate Body Polish and was blown away by how well it can multi-task…

Four Months at IIN

Since graduating high school in 2014 I haven’t done much to further my education. Instead, I took the time to focus on my health and to work on healing. Its been almost four years since I finished school, so it feels like a good time to dip my toes back into the school scene. I decided to enroll in IIN or the Institute for Integrative Nutrition…
