Since detoxing my cosmetic and personal care collection, I have had a difficult time finding a good, everyday moisturizer that isn’t too greasy looking. Most natural moisturizing products are oil based, so it makes sense that they would leave your skin looking extra “dewy”. For me, that doesn’t look so great, and it’s even worse under makeup. Andalou Naturals have come up with an oil free moisturizer that is matte and pretty safe to use.

Using the “Build Your Own Report” button on EWG’s skin deep database, I learned that this Acai and White Tea moisturizer has a rating of 3 (1 being safe and 10 being toxic). Andalou’s moisturizer is also non-GMO, gluten free, paraben, sulfate, and phthalate free as well as cruelty-free and vegetarian.

I completely love the way this oil free moisturizer feels on my face. It’s hydrating, light weight and mattifying all at the same time. It works well as both a daytime and a nighttime moisturizer. Because it is mattifying, it’s a dream to use under makeup.

Of course, once you find something you really like the company stops making it! As I was gathering my links to write this post, I couldn’t find this product on Andalou’s website. It turns out they renamed and repackaged their clarifying moisturizer. I’m not sure if they reformulated it as well. All of the information available for the new Acai and Kombucha moisturizer looks really similar to the Acai and White Tea that I love. The URL address even says “White Tea” rather than “Kombucha”. Fingers crossed that it’s still the same!

Do you have any favorites from Andalou? If so, please share your thoughts in the comments.
